As the 2008-09 school year unfolds children in Ms. Newcomb’s art classes will embark on a journey of art discovery. Students will learn about various cultures from around the world, master artists and the fundamentals of art. The art classroom currently follows the Adventures of Art curriculum.  The curriculum teaches students the elements and principles of design.  We have started off the new year by learning about three of the seven elements of art; color, line, and shape. In the following weeks each grade will incorporate all three elements into one project. Parents are always welcome to visit or volunteer in the art classroom. I am looking forward to an exciting and fun filled year teaching art.
