The Kindergarten students of Room 107 enjoy an all day program. We focus on developing language skills both oral and written. The curriculum consists of phonics instruction, development of pre-reading and reading skills, daily Writers’ Workshop, Everyday Math instruction along with the development of other content areas. Many of our students are second language learners and therefore we have a special block to build English vocabulary skills (which is wonderful for all students!) In the afternoon, the students expand their learning by attending PE, Art, Music, Library and Computer classes. This year we will take many field trips that will enhance our learning about the world around us. Parents are always encouraged to attend! A child’s first teachers are his/her parents and therefore they are very welcome in our classroom anytime. Please take the time to come in and visit us or even volunteer to help out. Los alumnos de kinder (del salón 107) están en un programa del todo el día. Enfocamos en el desarrollo del lenguaje oral y escrito. Nuestro día consiste  de la instrucción fonética, el desarrollo de la lectura, tiempo diario de la escritura, matemáticas y otras áreas de aprendizaje. Muchos de los alumnos hablan español y por eso tenemos un tiempo especial del aprendizaje del vocabulario en inglés. En la tarde, los alumnos también van a las clases de gimnasio, arte, música, biblioteca y computadores. Este año vamos a ir a muchas excursiones para aprender del mundo alrededor. Los padres siempre pueden acompañarnos en estas excursiones. Los primeros maestros de los niños son sus padres y por eso los padres siempre están invitados de visitar o ayudar en la clase. ¡Espero que los vea mucho!
